REAL Resistance
with REAL ML
A handful of tech companies wield enormous influence over the systems that shape our lives, from media and education to labor, language, and public life. Yet public conversations about their impact are often dominated by hype, abstraction, and sweeping claims about the future.
REAL Resistance is a series produced in collaboration with the REAL ML network that focuses on what’s actually happening: how technology is affecting communities, how power operates within these systems, and how people around the world are organizing in response.
In each episode, we speak with researchers, advocates, and organizers who are holding Big Tech accountable. Through their stories, research, and insights, REAL Resistance shines a light on a growing global network challenging concentrated tech power and holding the most extractive uses of technology to account.
REAL ML x The Maybe
The Maybe is a media studio and collective challenging the power and politics of tech. Together, we’ve partnered to spotlight members of the REAL ML community who are investigating harms, naming bad actors, building communities, and testing new strategies for change. Through this series, we share their stories, their insights, and what it takes to build REAL resistance.

"Openness without governance is just extraction with extra steps."
