Our vision

Imagine

A world liberated from the relentless grip of hype cycles. Where diverse experts and storytellers with lived experience are central to the conversation. Where new technology isn’t launched carelessly into the world and risks aren’t airbrushed away. Where it’s people — not industry — by default.

Can you picture it? Us too.

Our approach

How it all connects

We believe that technology is inherently political — and shapeable. And that it’s past time to shift the narrative. We seek to unravel the threads of the simplistic, immature media narratives that remain industry-aligned and bereft of nuance. So we can make room for critical debate, personal storytelling, and deeper understanding. The landscape is ever evolving. We remain committed to experimentation and strategic adaptation.

At our core, we connect and support a diverse community of experts, storytellers, media, and organizers working in and around tech politics. People who aren’t buying the story we’ve been sold. People who are interested in reshaping the future into one that works better for everyone.

We see our role as facilitator. Here to uplift new protagonists. Spark collaboration. Drive greater awareness. And empower everyone — from the newly curious to the doggedly focused — to turn knowledge into meaningful action for change.

How we work

Lean into complexity

Cut through the hype. Understand what’s really going on behind prevailing industry-aligned narratives around new tech and AI. We pull together experts, visionaries, and critical research across fields and focus areas to connect the dots and reinvigorate the masses.

Act with intention

A community of new protagonists working to reshape the future of tech politics and power. Join fellow visionaries who are pushing boundaries and finding a new path forward. Together, you’ll strengthen your messaging, build your brand, and advocate for real change.

Embrace pluralism

We don’t look for clients, we look for coconspirators. Our consultancy helps organizations working at the intersection of tech and society find creative solutions to complex problems. From facilitating events to launching new initiatives to producing media and beyond, we’re right there with you at every turn.

Our team

We are a group of passionate, committed, and curious people spread across continents. Our backgrounds vary across media, community building, and research. This combination of depth and breadth supports everything we do. Above all else, we are dedicated to delivering excellence — with humility, agility, and respect.

Headshot of person who has provided quote (dynamic)

"Before connecting with The Maybe, my partners and I were just starting to transition from the corporate world to activism, with little understanding of how to effectively build a campaign. Their support with messaging, website review, outreach, and budget was invaluable. The podcast I recorded with Alix provided a shareable overview, and the site has become a key campaign resource."
